The BTC Summer campaign uses an address linking system to coordinate rewards and boosts. This page explains how the system works now that all deposits are on Neutron.

Why Address Linking Exists

Simplified System (Post-Vault Deprecation)

With Ethereum vaults deprecated, the address linking system is now much simpler:
  • All deposits: Made on Neutron using Cosmos wallets like Keplr
  • All boosts: Applied on Neutron using the same Neutron address
  • NTRN Locking: Done on Neutron where your positions exist
Current simplified flow:
  • Your deposits are on your Neutron address
  • Your NTRN boost is on the same Neutron address
  • Boosts automatically apply to your positions
For most users, no manual address linking is required since deposits and boosts are on the same network.

How Address Linking Works Now

The Simplified System

With all deposits now on Neutron, the boost pointing system is straightforward:
  1. Deposits are on your Neutron address (using Keplr or other Cosmos wallets)
  2. When you create a boost (by locking NTRN), it points to your Neutron address
  3. The system automatically connects your boost to your deposits
This operation of connecting your boost to your deposit address is called “pointing.”

When You Need Address Linking

Standard Flow (Most Users):
  • You deposit using Keplr (Neutron address)
  • You boost with the same Neutron wallet
  • No manual linking needed - everything happens on the same address automatically
Multiple Neutron Addresses:
  • You have deposits across multiple Neutron wallets
  • You need to choose which address to boost (you can only boost one at a time)
  • You must point your NTRN boost to your primary deposit address

How the System Works Technically

Boost Pointer Contract

The campaign uses a smart contract called the “Boost Pointer Contract” that:
  • Accepts your boost (NTRN lock receipt NFT)
  • Records your chosen target address (where your deposits are)
  • Calculates your boost multiplier based on deposits at that address
  • Applies rewards to the correct deposit location

User Experience

In the Campaign Interface:
  1. “Boost this wallet”: Applies boost to your currently connected Neutron wallet
For standard users: Use “Boost this wallet” since your deposits and boosts are on the same Neutron address This approach prioritizes user control - you explicitly decide which address gets boosted, and all boost pointing is recorded on-chain for transparency and verification. NTRN lock NFTs are transferable, but boost benefits follow the NFT holder.
